Emanuel Caserio is a name that resonates deeply with Italian audiences, and for good reason. From his celebrated role a s Salvatore Amato in the beloved series "Il Paradiso delle Signore" to his recent international triumph in the Netflix miniseries "Inganno," Caserio has fascinated viewers with his nuanced performances and undeniable charisma. We sat down with the rising star to discuss his journey, his craft, and what lies ahead for this self- proclaimed dreamer.
Born in Latina, Caserio discovered his passion for acting at a young age. After honing his skills at the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, he quickly made a name for himself across theatre, television, and cinema. His talent was recognized early on, winning Best Actor in a web series at the Roma Fiction Fest in 2013, followed by the Kineo Award as Young Revelation at the 73rd Mostra del Cinema di Venezia in 2016.
His resume is a testament to his versatility. On television, he has appeared in prominent series such as "Squadra Antimafia" and "Un Medico in Familia," and in cinema, he has worked with acclaimed directors on films like Fausto Brizzi's "Forever Young" and "Odio l'estate" with Aldo, Giovanni, and Giacomo. However, it is his leading role in "Il Paradiso delle Signore" that has truly endeared him to millions, playing the much-loved character of Salvatore Amato since 2018.
When asked to describe himself, Caserio's answer is as poetic as it is profound. "Disney's Peter Pan might be enough," he muses, "but to be more specific: a dreamer with his feet on the ground but always ready to take flight." This sense of curiosity and adventure is a thread that runs through his life and work. "I love traveling, drawing, discovering, experimenting, making mistakes, falling, getting back up, being amazed and surprising others."

This emotional depth, a hallmark of his performances, is not an act but an intrinsic part of his being. He attributes it to his natural curiosity and a deep empathy for the people around him. "I believe it's always been part of me," he explains. "I like observing; I'm naturally curious. But what I enjoy most is feeling. I often reflect on what the people around me are experiencing-friends, family... even on the metro or public transport, I love observing what's happening around me and sensing people's emotions." This keen observation allows him to bring authenticity to every character he embodies.
For Caserio, preparing for emotionally complex roles is not about rigid rituals but about instinct and connection. "I don't have specific rituals," he shares. "I rely on the script and my instincts. I try to bring the soul of the character to the foreground, so their goal and their wound come across clearly." He sees a parallel between the human experience and the characters he plays. "We all have goals and wounds... and that's what makes us alive. I think the same applies to the characters I play."
His recent success on Netflix with "Inganno," a miniseries that has broken records with over 25 million views, has introduced his talent to a global audience. The experience has ignited a desire for more. When asked about future international projects, his response is simple and direct: "How could I say no?" He's also eager to challenge himself with new and different roles, specifically mentioning a desire to play a character with a new dialect, like Neapolitan, or to dive into a hilarious comedy to "bring out all my lightness."
Looking ahead, Caserio embraces the unknown with a sense of adventure. "I'm in the middle of something," he says of his current path. "This 2025 marks a radical change in my life. I still don't know where it will take me... and I must say, I really like that."
